Privacy Policy
Runlytics reads the running data your phone already has and tells you what it means. This policy explains exactly what that involves, what leaves your device and what does not.
It is written against what the app actually does. Where something is processed only on your phone, we say so, and we mean it literally: no copy is sent anywhere.
The short version
- Your health and fitness data never leaves your device. Runlytics reads it from Apple Health, does its maths on your phone, and stores nothing about it on any server.
- We do not use your health data for advertising, marketing, or data mining, and we never sell it or share it with data brokers.
- We run no analytics or tracking SDKs. There is no third-party telemetry in this app.
- The only things that reach a server are your account details (name, handle, bio) and, if you use them, the event and club features that require an account to work.
1. Health and fitness data
With your permission, Runlytics reads the following from Apple Health:

All of this is read and processed entirely on your device. It is not uploaded, not backed up to our servers, and not visible to us. If you delete the app, the copy Runlytics held goes with it; your data in Apple Health is unaffected.
Runlytics writes two things back to Apple Health, and only when you enter them: your body mass and body fat percentage when you log them by hand, and a workout effort score when you rate a workout.
In line with Apple's requirements for apps that use HealthKit, Runlytics does not use health data for advertising or any similar service, does not disclose it to third parties without your explicit consent, and does not share it with anyone for data-mining purposes.
2. Your account
Signing in is optional until you want features that need an account. When you do sign in, we use Clerk as our authentication provider, via Sign in with Apple or Google. Clerk receives and stores the identifier those services return — typically your email address — so that your account persists across devices.
Once signed in, the following is stored on our servers:
- Display name, handle and bio
- Whether you have chosen to share activities to the feed
- Anything you create in the app's social and event features: posts, comments, likes, club memberships, event registrations and tickets
Your profile photo and cover image stay on your device. Runlytics does not upload them.
3. Location
If you allow it, Runlytics uses your location only while the app is open, for two things: reading the weather where you actually are, and showing the races nearest you.
Your coordinate is sent to Open-Meteo, a third-party weather service, to retrieve a forecast and air-quality reading. That request is coarse and anonymous: it carries a rounded coordinate and nothing else — no account identifier, no device identifier, nothing that identifies you. Runlytics does not store your location history.
You can decline location entirely. The app works; the conditions band simply shows nothing rather than guessing.
4. What stays on your device
The following never leaves your phone:
- All health and fitness data described in section 1
- The date of birth, sex and weight you enter yourself, if Apple Health did not have them
- Your units preference and privacy settings
- Your profile photo and cover image
- Your heart-rate zone settings
5. Third parties
Runlytics uses three external services, and no others:

There are no analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDKs in this app. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
6. Your choices and rights
- Health access can be revoked at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Runlytics. The app keeps working; it simply stops having anything to read.
- Location can be revoked in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
- Your account and everything on it can be deleted from inside the app, under Profile → Settings. Deleting your account removes your profile, posts, comments and memberships from our servers. On-device data goes when you delete the app.
- If you are in a jurisdiction with rights of access, correction, portability or erasure (such as the EU/UK under GDPR), you can exercise them by contacting us at the address below.
7. Children
Runlytics is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects what we do with your information, we will update the date at the top and note the change in the app.
